This whole “trial” of drug testing welfare recipients in certain areas is ridiculous and cannot be supported by facts. I heard someone on the radio saying that it will “Help people to get off drugs and back into the work force”
Fact – most drug addicts are already working
Fact – the majority of job seekers would love to be in the work force anyway, but the jobs are not available
Fact – we already do not have adequate facilities and resources to aid addicts in breaking their addictions.
At the very first random drug test that shows positive, people will be placed onto the cashless welfare card. There’s no mention of them ever being able to get off that. A random test shows random use – there is no evidence that the person involved has an addiction. From there a second positive would mean they go for rehab……………where? Makes me mad that so many sit on their lounge chairs and grumble but won’t actually do anything about the things that really m
